Anatolia, the Asian heartland of Türkiye and the cradle of civilization, featuring complex tectonic history and breath taking geology, offers a variety of tectonic terrains. The Anatolian Plate was formed as a result of of collision of multiple terrains and closure of Tethys ocean. In this tectonic short course wewill be examining components of this spectacular tectonic mosaic as we cross suture zones, tectonic boundaries and plate margins.
